Regardless, we soldier on like soldiers soldiering through something. This week we have our friendly little brothers Fake Problems on the show. We spoke with these kids a while back but figure that after a full length and a 7” release since we last spoke it would be a good idea to touch base. We spoke with guitarist/vocalist Chris and guitarist/owner of Good Friends Records, Casey. These kids have a future so bright they gotta wear shades (or is that to hide the red eyes?) and it doesn’t hurt that Chris dresses like a tiny Mr. Rogers.

Also, we have a brand new ENTER TO WIN!!! where you can land a copy of the Fake Problems first 7”, Spurs and Spokes, on white vinyl. This shit is rare and out of print as a muthafucka so don’t miss out. Also, send us some love or spam at SoundSceneRevolution@gmail.com, on Myspace or right here on our comments.
Sidenote: John McCain finished in the bottom 5 of his graduating class. Moral? Study or the Vietcong will whoop your ass.

Yeah, probably that last one.

So, here’s the facts. We sat down (or stood) with Rick of This is Hell for an interview all about the band. Rick is a rad dude and is super informative about the bands history and their recent work. It’s a good interview (on his end at least). We also have a new ENTER TO WIN, where you can win a copy of This is Hell’s newest LP Misfortunes on orange vinyl and their split with Cancer Bats on red vinyl. Just listen to the end to learn how to enter.

We’ll be back next week with a new interview and some more energy. Until then feel free to e-mail us at SoundSceneRevoulution@gmail.com or hit us up on myspace. If you smell what Barack is cooking.

Like that time in Michigan where we all passed out after the Journey reunion concert and you woke up as Donny was teabagging you. Just like that.

Well we followed up that joke with a new joke, our terrible interviews! Well, the subject (Ray of the magnanimous Teenage Bottlerocket) is funny and good, but I’d venture to say we’re at a low point on our end. Not to mention we included bearded sheep merchant Justin, of Punknews.org. Guy sounds like Artie Lang if he were mentally challenged and raised by the cast of The Hills Have Eyes, he’s also considered a sex symbol in no less than a dozen third world countries.

Enjoy the show and be sure to enter to win a copy of the Teenage Bottlerocket/Prototipes split 7”. These are nearly all out of print so grab it now or feel like a douche later. And remember, there are knowns and there are unknowns. Then there are unknown unknowns. Those are things you don’t know you don’t know. Like that I am quietly stealing money from your bank account as you read that. See? Now that’s become a known. But the amount is still an unknown.

Leading off the charge are some hardcore kids who make up a band called Ruiner. These guys play a style of hardcore that, while not groundbreaking, is super intense and amazingly catchy. They may only have one full length under their belt (and it’s barely a full length) but they rock like veterans. So listen, enjoy and rock out like you’re in Nam.

We’re coking up some awesome contests with Punknews.org (hopefully), but in the meantime we don’t have anything on our own. Please feel free to shot us some e-mails at SoundSceneRevolution@gmail.com, our MySpace or on the comments section.

And remember, “I remember landing under sniper fire. There was supposed to be some kind of greeting ceremony at the airport but we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base,”

Sorry, but with all the writers on strike I’ve been taking my time to put together a new script for a zany sitcom. I don’t want to reveal too much but let’s just say it will be a mix of Homeboys in Outer space and Laugh In. Expect big things.

In other (no scab) news we got to sit down with Chris and Brett of the band Last of the Believers. If the names sound familiar it’s probably because Chris and Brett are common names. However, it’s also because Chris used to be in Rise Against and Brett currently basses for Ignite. So trust me when I say Last of the Believers have a pedigree you need to hear to truly appreciate.

Also, we have two free copies of their re-released EP Paper Ships Under a Burning Bridge. All you need to do is listen to the last 8 minutes of the broadcast and learn how to enter to win (act excited!). Always, e-mail us at SoundSceneRevolution[at]Gmail[dot]com, on MySpace or in the comments section. Enjoy that shit. And remember “There is no such thing as a chemical imbalance.”

But we’re glad to be back and glad to let you listen to more of our shenanigans, tomfoolery and buttsex. We happen to have an awesome new band on the show today I could only mean Gaslight Anthem.

These boys hail from New Jersey and play awesome rock songs with heart, feeling, love and enough balls to make even your slutty grandma happy. They’ve got one full length, Sink or Swim, and an EP slated for release this month on Sabot Productions called Señor and the Queen. Trust me, they’ve got a steadily building fanbase and you’re going to want to listen now or regret it later.

We have a ton of great things coming up, including out biggest contest to date (we’re talking it’s so big that a comedian from the 1990’s would compare it to your fat mother). So don’t sleep on it. We promise we’re gonna start flinging new shit out there and if you miss it don’t come crying to me with some sob story. You missed the Chuck Ragan live CD, too bad. You missed the Asian Mantravaganza, Boo-hoo. Do not miss our coming shows or you will have no one but yourself and your fanciful god to blame. For free coupons and spam send us a line at SoundSceneRevolution@gmail.com, out MySpace, or the comments section.

Listen as we talk to Mr. Cape about his new project and how awesome it is to do something that isn’t Lagwaon (Sidenote: Joey is really 6’ 7”) and we even get to play some tracks off the new album I Remember When I Was Pretty (the last track we play, “Indigenous”, is my favorite thus far).

Also, Virgil “Vinyl Overlord” Dickerson has been kind enough to hook us up with not one, not two, not four but three awesome prize packs! Each prize pack contains a copy of the Playing Favorites new album I Remember When I Was Pretty on CD and vinyl as well as a Suburban Home Records “I Celebrate Their Entire Catalog” shirt. Listen to the end of this killer broadcast and learn how you can win this amazing prize packs.

Enjoy the humor and insight of Joey and be sure to check back next week as we continue to lower the bar leading into our Christmaskuhwanzavistuseaster break (that’s a whole lotta gifts). <itunes:summary>Holy god! Has it really been three months? No it hasn’t, actually. Two maybe. Anyhow, after what seems like forever and ever the mediocre hobgoblin of media has returned with more apathy than ever! With no new contests this week, we can only recommend you listen because your life is remarkably boring without us.

So here’s this week show where we talk with a dude from The Weakerthans. They’re Canadian and write catchy songs about cats, curling and dudes named Gump who don’t run but skate (crazy ass backwards Canada). They also manage to be a group of pretty rad dudes. Oh yeah, and some fuzzy bastard from Punknews drops in and basically doesn’t do shit.

Enjoy the show and be sure to come back next week where we answer the burning questions, who won the Bomb the Music Industry! contest? And, who is Sound Guy Nariman’s baby daddy? Until then, send us something at SoundSceneRevolution@gmail.com, on MySpace or the comments section. Enjoy, and remember Dog The Bounty Hunter wants to be buried with George Washington’s slaves.

<itunes:summary>Here it is kids, our last blog before we go on a month long hiatus to spread the message of gay Jebus to third world states across the midwest! So how do you top off a series of mediocre Warped Tour interviews? With one interview so goddamn insane it bottles the mind. That’s right we got Bomb the Music Industry! with us this week and we pull no punches. We talk about O’ Pioneers!!!, Asian Man Records, selling out, buying in, buying low and selling high and all the general things that have helped make Jeff the multimillionaire spokesman for DIY ska.

Also, this week we wrap up a series of ENTER TO WIN!!!’s, featuring our Asian Man Extravaganza (which drew a record number of entries) and our Whole Wheat Bread contest (which drew a mustache on the other contest).
Plus!!!
A brand new ENTER TO WIN!!!, for a chance to win a copy of Bomb the Music Industry!’s Get Warmer on CD and limited edition picture disc. Listen to the last 8 minutes to learn how to enter. We should be back sometime in October but we may be taking off again to go to The Fest in Gainesville (we’ll let you know how that goes). Catch you all on the flipside. To the van, to the podcast, to the van, back home.
-Rich
P.S. I said the last song was “Never trust a man without a horribly embarrassing secret” but I actually decided (post-editing) to go with “Get Warmer” because I love that song…and I’m a liar.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Holy crap! For the two of you who might read this crap, we’ve finally rolled out a show on time for the first time since your mom was sober enough to pass out somewhere other than the porch. How did we manage to do this amazing feat of averageness? Mostly, because this is a Warped Tour episode and the show was recorded and edited weeks ago…BUT, also because I had a remarkably slow day at work and got to type the blog on the clock. Take that, the man!

So, the down side is that all the punctuality on Earth can’t make Warped Tour interviews good but Killswitch Engage can. That’s right this week we sit down with those crazy kids of metalcore to discuss the finer points of metal, punk and short shorts. Also this week has Hawaii’s very own Pepper. Other than sharing their name with a popular dinner condiment I didn’t/don’t know anything about these guys, so don’t ask me.

We’ll be wrapping up all of our contests next week, but for now you have one last chance to enter our Asian Man Contests (Lawrence Arms and Dan Potthast interviews) and the Whole Wheat Bread contest. So enter now, or just shut your trap. Leave us e-cards filled with viruses at SoundSceneRevolution@gmail.com, MySpace or the comments sections.

<itunes:summary>Here’s a funny story. We edited this week’s show almost 7 days ago. All we needed to get it posted was my shitty blog contribution. 7 days…and this is what you get. That’s service.

Anyhow, this week we have a killer interview with Bay Area transplant and MU330 frontman, Dan Potthast. Dan is more than just a frontman for an amazing ska band, he also has his own solo work and a ton of small projects, most of which get discussed in this interview. So kick back and enjoy the sounds of two mouth breathers talking about monsters, rollercoasters and a smattering of music.

Also, we’re continuing our Asian Manstravaganza where you can ENTER TO WIN!!! both of Dan Potthast’s releases ( Sweets and Meats and Eyeballs), The Lawrence Arms Cocktails & Dreams, the re-release of Alkaline Trio’s Goddamnit and other cool Asian Man swag.
<p>Here&#8217;s a funny story. We edited this week's show almost 7 days ago. All we needed to get it posted was my shitty blog contribution. 7 days&#8230;and this is what you get. That&#8217;s service. </p>

<p>Anyhow, this week we have a killer interview with Bay Area transplant and MU330 frontman, Dan Potthast. Dan is more than just a frontman for an amazing ska band, he also has his own solo work and a ton of small projects, most of which get discussed in this interview. So kick back and enjoy the sounds of two mouth breathers talking about monsters, rollercoasters and a smattering of music. </p>

<itunes:summary>So, to the dismay of many of our fan, we are taking a break form the shit heap that is Warped Tour interviews to bring you something totally different, a band that was banned from Warped Tour, The Lawrence Arms. Actually, we’ll be running a few Asian Man Records interviews, in conjunction with their 11th Anniversary.

If you don’t know who the Lawrence Arms are by now I highly suggest you Google the city of Chicago and filter through the stories until you find them, go ahead, we’ll wait…So sit back and enjoy the tasty goodness as Chris, Brendan and Neil talk about Cornish Gay Men, concept albums, and why Brendan took the mic into the toilet during the interview. It’s a good (totally naked) time had by all.

Additionally, we’ll have a brand new ENTER TO WIN!!! featuring a variety of Asian Man releases. One winner gets a copy of both Dan Potthast albums, Lawrence Arms’ Cocktails and Dreams, the rerelease of Alkaline Trio’s Goddamnit, plus some other fun stuff. So listen and figure out how to get free crap!

Stay tuned until next week when we have more awesome stuff. And feel free to drop us a line at SoundSceneRevolution@gmail.com, on MySpace or in the comments section. And remember…freedom is on the March…and the May.

<itunes:summary>So, a week back into shows and it seems like my writer’s block has cleared up, yah! Unfortunately, you now have to (well I guess not “have to” but you should) listen to what is now known as “The Warped Tour shit-fest!”. Not that I have anything against the Warped Tour, I mean we had to apply for press Pass, which in and of itself is 90% more work than we normally do. So we had to want to get in. However, once inside the Warped Tour press tent, we entered a land where time and space functioned in odd, unexplainable ways. A world where Big D and the Kids Table weren’t listed on the interview schedule, but you could interview them if you asked the press lady about it. A world where that same press lady would continually feed you band after band of crap that you didn’t request and you didn’t know a thing about. In short, a world gone mad.

So out of the three interviews we wanted we got one. Still, we left with 7 interviews, that’s 6 whole interviews filled with bands we don’t know and people we don’t know what to ask. So sit back and enjoy the awkwardness of entire interviews where I avoid asking bands about their music, because I don’t know anything about them.

As far as contests go, we’re not going to ask bands on Warped Tour, making no money, to give us free shit. Sorry, but we’re not total assholes. But stay tuned for some real contests coming up soon. Also, say hi at SoundSceneRevolution@gmail.com, on MySpace or in the comments. It’s so totally awesome it makes us forget that Al Qaeda is regrouping.

Well, the interview is rad. We have a copy of Cobra Skulls EP, Draw Muhamad, to give away. <itunes:summary>I want to first and foremost take a second to say we will be out of internet for a couple of weeks. We should be back late May or early June but for now Sound Guy Nariman and myself are going to take some time to drink fruity drinks and do manly stuff. Secondly, we’d like to thank all of the people who have taken time to write us, enter contests and just listen to the show. We love doing this dumb show and we love it even more that people listen and it absolutely blows our minds that people like it…I figure 90% of the interest is due to Chicken and Brendan Kelly but we appreciate the love.

We have a super great interview with Mike Hale (Gunmoll, In the Red and solo artist), with some information you totally don’t want to miss.
PLUS
A new contest where you can win a CD-R (burned by Mike Hale himself) of Mike Hale’s unreleased solo work, to go along with the new CD you’ll get a 7” of Mr. Chuck Ragan. What 7”? The limited release of two songs off his upcoming Side One Dummy (I think I say BYO in the show), that happens to be hand numbered 315 of 600 and signed by Mr. Ragan. So that’s a limited CD-R, unavailable to the public AND a limited edition, autographed 7”. Dude you have it so easy. So listen to the last 8 minutes and learn how to enter…DO IT!

We’ll see you kids in a couple of weeks. Enjoy the time off and take it as an opportunity to think about Sound Scene Revolution has enriched your lives in the last year and a half OR just promise to come back when we return.
Thanks,

<itunes:summary>Today we have a very special episode that features our very first phone interview with Mr. Chris McCaughan of The Lawrence Arms and (more importantly) Sundowner. Chris is as much an amazing sex symbol as he is a musician and if it weren’t for the fact that he was in Chicago and not face to face, I would have been drooling this entire interview. Luckily he was some thousands of miles away so we were able to discuss Sundowner, touring, Jenny Choi and the overwhelming Lawrence Arms breakup rumors.

Along with all that fun jibba jabba we have some music from Sundowner and some other odds and ends. Though we continue our two week draught with no give-a-ways (sorry Toby is moving and he’s a tool…seriously), but this interview should be able to stand alone for you cheap bastards. Enjoy, and always remember to hit us up at SoundSceneRevolution@gmail.com, on MySpace or on the comments section. Enjoy and remember it’s true, this man has no dick.

<p>I&#8217;m making this quick because I&#8217;m way late getting this in. This week we have Ken and Jeremy from Fat Wreck Chords finest, Smoke or Fire. These guys bring the rock like your mother brings the homemade gravy to a baptism (we don&#8217;t know why she does it either). Be sure to listen as the boys discuss the benefits of a college education, touring around the world and why Guns N&#8217; Roses is only awesome in the past tense.</p>

	<p><b>ALSO!</b><br />
Awesome contests this week where you can <b>ENTER TO WIN!!!</b> a copy of Smoke or Fire&#8217;s second full length, <i>This Sinking Ship</i>. We&#8217;re also continuing to run our Love Me Destroyer contest that breaks down like this:</p>

	<p>Two (2) Winners:<br />
-One (1) winner gets both (2) Love Me Destroyer full lengths, a poster, a t-shirt (XL), and some sticker.<br />
-One (1) winner gets all that PLUS a Love me Destroyer pint glass, all courtesy of the lovely folks at Suburban Home. Bought separately it&#8217;s a combined value of more than a human baby, but this special offer could be yours for free, just enter!</p>

<p>That&#8217;s it, it&#8217;s a wrap. Please hit us up at <a href="mailto:soundscenerevolution@gmail.com">SoundSceneRevolution@gmail.com</a>, on <a href="http://www.myspace.com/soundscenerevolution">MySpace</a> or on the comments section. <itunes:summary>We kind of fell off the face of the earth for a little while so let me explain…We totally suck. Actually, we just wanted to make sure we had some good shows lined up. We hate taking weeks off as much as you hate late updates. The only thing we hate more than late shows is doing a show half assed. So, instead we opted to take a few weeks off, gather up some shows so this way we have a little buffer so we don’t need to fall behind or simply slap together a show with some shit band.

To usher in our triumphant return we are bringing you a great interview and contest. The band is none other than Denver, Colorado’s best punk band of 2005, Love Me Destroyer (last years award went to Prince, go figure). If you’re not familiar with Love Me Destroyer, you should be. They play a great blend of technical and melodic hard rock and they write a fucking killer power ballad.

We sat down with Scooter, Ryan and Cody to discuss their new album, Guitar Hero II, The Departed, threesomes with black chicks and trying new things with dudes. If you think you misread any of that, you didn’t, it’s just that crazy. This interview is equal parts hilarity, informational and offensive. It’s like a naked potato sack race with the guys from NPR.

If that’s not enough to get you to listen, Suburban Home Records has hooked us up, again, with crazy shit to give away. We’re talking CD’s, pint glasses and all sorts of good shit.

[I’d like to take an aside to really thank the fine people at Suburban Home. We know we’re just some shit podcast but these guys have treated as well as we could have asked for. Suburban Home is easy to work with and just genuinely good people. Now go buy their shit so they don’t have to move it all].

Be sure to listen to (at least) the last 8 minutes of the podcast to learn how to enter to win. Be sure to send us your thoughts at SoundSceneRevolution@gmail.com, on MySpace and our comments section. And remember, Love Me Destroyer: Try new things with dudes.

<itunes:summary>I’m at the job so I’ll keep this short (updating your blog is apparently only a small step up from looking at porn on the clock, according to company policy). This week we have a couple of special surprises. First, we have a rocking guest by the name of Geoff from Defiance, Ohio. They’re a super awesome band that blends elements of folk and punk(ya know, folk-punk). If that doesn’t do it for you picture Against Me!, This Bike is a Pipe Bomb, Woody Guthrie and four dudes who haven’t showered in a while playing beach volleyball in the middle of October on some far off frozen tundra that is only inhabited by an indigenous population of crab people, while the soundtrack to The Sound of Music plays in the background and a team of Iron Chefs prepare a meal for the Grand Wizard of the Klu Klux Klan using the secret ingredient of teeth pulled from the infant mouth of the Siberian White Tiger. Ya know something like that.

No matter what you compare them to Defiance, Ohio is one thing, good! And to add to this weeks goodness we have a special guest interviewer, Justin from Punknews.org . Unlike all the other times where he just chimes in with a question or two Justin actually takes the helm for this interview and steers this sinking ship of a podcast right into the coast of awesomeness! Of course this journey did take some 50 minutes so Sound Guy Nariman edged it down a bit for posting, but the full sized one should be up at sometime.

FINALLY: we wrap up our contests for Only Crime, New Mexican Disaster Squad and Drag the River this week. Thanks to everyone who entered, be sure to listen to see if you won. While we don’t have a new contest (as Defiance, Ohio readily gives their music away) we are continuing to run our contest for Tim Barry, so listen to that and learn how to enter. Always (and I mean that) feel free to drop us a line at SoundSceneRevolution@gmail.com, on MySpace or in the comments section. You never call anymore and a letter once in a while would be nice and don’t even get me started on how neglectful you’ve been of Sound Guy Nariman…Well you get the idea.
